Hi, my name is Brittany. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, Prenatal/Postnatal specialist and Certified Online Trainer. I also have a B.S. degree in Fitness and Nutrition.
More importantly, I'm a new mom to my baby girl Avery and a fur mom to 1 dog (Karli) and 2 cats (Milo and Lily).
My journey in fitness began in high school when I found a love for running. However, what started out as a passion for how running made me feel, turned into an unhealthy obsession to look a certain way. I took my new lifestyle to the extreme, sacrificing my mental health by forcing myself to workout for hours a day and eat little calories. At the time I would deny it, but I had an eating disorder. I didn't love my body, My body was just a tool to gain acceptance, I believed the skinner I was, the more acceptance I would get.
Learning how to balance a my new lifestyle in a healthy way took many years. I wasn't until I received guidance and support from other fitness professionals that I realized what healthy living really involves: patience when results take longer than expected, grace when you mess up and have a bad day, and the consistency to keep at it for the rest of your life
Over the years I've dabbled in many types of exercise, such as Taekwondo, cycling, weight training, rock climbing, and Triathlon. I have also tried many different diets. While exercise and nutrition created some issues in my mindset, it has also given made my life so much better. I have made many mistakes over the years, but having done so, I have a better understanding of what not to do. This also gave me the knowledge to help YOU not make the same mistakes.
My primary goal in creating Zest Fitness is to help you feel confident and strong in your body by giving you the tools to change your current way of doing things. All of my programming is backed up by research and social proof, it won't be the easy button but it WILL get you the results you're looking for.
